This social language skills group, for children ages 5-12, builds upon language and social skills that help children navigate our social world. Groups are led by an ASHA Certified Speech-Language Pathologists.

We welcome participants who have been identified with having, but not limited to, social communication difficulties, auditory processing disorders, Asperger’s syndrome, social anxiety, and/or expressive language challenges. Groups are limited to 6 students.

Objectives

Perspective taking, initiating conversations, joining a group, problem solving, social thinking, listening to others, team work, conversational turn-taking, giving/receiving compliments, and working together to create projects as a team.

Activities

Games, stories (including the “Super Flex” curriculum), sports, crafts, videos, role-playing and apps.

In order to practice and generalize skills, some sessions include walking trips to our neighborhood playground and a local shop.
